About Juliann Caveny
Since she was little, Juliann (Juli) Caveny has been telling stories–big ones, little one and even a poem every now and then. As a junior high English/Language Arts teacher, Juli uses her story-telling skills as writing models for her students. But it wasn’t until her mother suggested she join SCBWI that she started to see her passion as a profession. Honing her craft has been a priority ever since! Juli is an active member of two critique groups in central Illinois and a regular participant in writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo, PiBoIdMo and ReFoReMo. In her spare time, she crochets and dabbles in photography. She loves dogs, small animals, and vintage cars. Juli writes for children of all ages, from preschoolers to young adults, and has a soft spot for quiet, yet powerful stories about friendship and family. She often draws on her experiences as mother of three boys and a teacher for inspiration.
