About Magali Charrier
Magali was born and raised under the warm sun of Provence, in South of France. From the word GO, she was always looking for visual clues and undiscovered truths in the smallest details of life. Poetry and drawing were her first love.
She took on an Art degree at the Beaux-Arts of Montpellier where she developed her passion for tales told with ink, paint and pixels. After moving to Brighton, England, she went on to study Dance & Visual Arts at Brighton University and started making films combining dance, animation and poetry. Off the back of these, Magali was commissioned to direct for the BBC and the Arts Council of England. Her highly original hand-made films have been broadcast and have won her many prizes across the globe.
After a Master in Communication and Animation at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art, she was called back to the drawing board to make her first book with author, Laurence Shorter. The Lazy Guru’s Guide to Life was published in more than 10 countries including UK, US, Germany, China, Korea and Brazil.
Next year, Enchanted Lion will be publishing Magali’s wonderfully colorful illustrations in Glorious George, a book written by the much loved children’s book Greek author, Eugene Trivizas.
Magali lives and works in Brussels.
